Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

SFNF Urges Memorial Day Visitors to Recreate Responsibly, Comply with Fire Restrictions

Prohibited:

Building, maintaining, or using a fire, campfire or stove fire.

Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least (3) feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of any flammable material.

Welding or operating an acetylene or other torch with open flame.

Processing or using a motor vehicle off National Forest System roads, on all lands and trails, unless solely for the purpose of parking in an area that is devoid of vegetation within 10 feet of the roadway, or in areas that are designated for parking within developed recreation sites.

Operating a chainsaw or other equipment powered by an internal combustion engine between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

* 6ft Social Distancing is required

* Large crowds are prohibited

* Face coverings are REQUIRED

   What is open?   

  • Non-essential retailers operate via curbside pickup and delivery service only where permitted by their license.

  • State parks are on a day use only, no camping or visitor centers. 

  • Golf courses, allowed to open for golf only.

  • Pet humane adoption/groomers/daycare/boarding are operating

   What is Closed?   

  • Instruction to STAY HOME remain in place for all individuals.

  • Non-essential retailers and workplaces

  • Bars remain temporarily closed

  • Indoor malls, gyms, salons, theaters and casinos

  • Mass Gatherings are restricted as per the current PHO

  • 14-day quarantine remains in place for out-of-state airport travels. 

  • Vacation rentals prohibited to out-of-state residents

   What will change heading into Phase I   

Drive-in Theaters permitted to open

Restaurants may operate indoor dine-in service at 50% of maximum occupancy in accordance with COVID-Safe Practices

Gyms and Hotels may operate at 50% of maximum occupancy

Indoor mall may open at 25% of maximum occupancy

Hair salons, barbershops, tattoo parlors, massage services and mail salons may operate at 25% of maximum occupancy

  • Accept clients on an appointment only basis

  • Personal training permitted for up to 2 trainees

  • Pools may be used for lap swimming and lessons of up to two students and must adhere to CDC guidelines

  • Bar and Counter seating prohibited; no standing service

  • Six feet of distance between tables of seated customers

  • Loitering prohibited; food courts must remain closed

  • Discontinued service stations that require customers to congregate

  • Stringent and regular sanitizing; training's for employees on cleaning processes

  • 14-day quarantine order for airport arrivals amended to permit certain business travel under COVID-Safe Practices

  • Face Coverings are REQUIRED.

  • 6ft Social Distancing REQUIRED.

For Memorial Day weekend and until conditions support a phased reopening of recreation facilities, please remember that:

  • All developed campgrounds on the SFNF are closed to overnight camping.

  • All toilet facilities on the forest are locked.  Learn how to dispose of human waste appropriately.

  • Campfires, charcoal grills, and coal and wood burning stoves are prohibited.

  • Some picnic/day use sites are closed to the public.

  • Trash collection is suspended. Take your garbage home.
