Luis Hernandez Jr.

Luis Hernandez Jr. is a communications & marketing specialist, most recently the Communications & Membership Development Director at the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce & Previously the Executive Director of ABQWest Chamber of Commerce. Under both roles, he is responsible for growth while improving its programming, member relations, and overall reputation of helping grow businesses in the community.

In addition to his work at both Chambers of Commerce, Luis is a local small business owner/entrepreneur. He and his Wife, Rachael Hernandez, own and operate Elite Music Productions, an Event & Entertainment Planning Agency specializing in New Mexico Spanish Music.

He is an active member of the community where he lends his entertainment, social media and marketing knowledge to local businesses, non-profits, and church organizations. He has also done voluntary work for several local programs & events:

Bernalillo County Code of Conduct Review Board – Appointed Board Member District 2
West Central Community Development Group – Board Member & Treasurer
- Legislative West Side Day – Event to introduce West Side Area Students to the Legislative Process. In 2017 over 1,000 area students attended the event at the State Capitol.
- WestFest – Community Celebration Showcasing the business community of West Central while engaging community stakeholders to identify community needs.

- Event provides free professional haircuts, school supplies, and dental & heath checks for families in need during back to school season.In 2014 we served close to 15k students
Friends of the Fatherless – Collect and provide Backpacks & School Supplies to organization for distribution to orphanages in Mexico, El Salvador, Haiti, & The Philippines.

Luis is a lifelong resident of Albuquerque NM, he lives on the SW Mesa (West Gate Area) with his wife Rachael Hernandez, and their daughter Aria.

When not working, Luis enjoys spending time with family, performing as a musician or seeing a good NM Spanish Music Concert, and of course volunteering at community related events
