Welcome to the Fourth of July Fiestas de Las Vegas 2019!
I am delighted to invite you in celebrating the 131st year of this spectacular event . Every year since 1888, Fiestas showcases the very best in local and award winning entertainment. It is an opportunity to connect with our family & friends, and to appreciate & experience our culture, life and traditions. This year’s festivities begin with the traditional crowning of the Fiesta Queen, La Reina and a parade themed “La Celebración de Las Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores de Las Vegas Grandes; Vida, Tradición y Cultura”.
This year is packed with 4 days of entertainment for visitors to enjoy local New Mexican bands music, a rodeo, carnival and light show & firework display. The Fiestas will honor Cipriano Aguilar a well known Fiesta Committee member and life long participant, as well as local Fiesta historian.
In celebrating tradition and culture, we invite you to tour the 900 plus historic buildings, stop in local shops and enjoy many of the surrounding outdoor venues.
Treat yourself to great food in the Plaza park and at local restaurants, where you can enjoy the best chile New Mexico has to offer whether it be red, green or Christmas (both).
Your time in Las Vegas will be a new adventure down old trails. Once again, welcome and enjoy the Fiestas.

About Us
Fourth of July Fiestas in Las Vegas is celebrating 131 year's of tradicion, life and culture. The celebration of our Lady of Sorrows.
The City of Las Vegas was once the Capital of New Mexico, a railroad city and the wild west of the southwest. As the state of New Mexico grew, Las Vegas stayed a small City situated on the foothills of the Mountains. The community is rich in history and culture with over 900 historic buildings on the Historic National Registry. They celebrate the history and culture each year with one big celebration called Fiestas de Las Vegas.
The history of the Fiestas dates back to 1888 as celebration for the farmers to have water and good crops for the season. Today, thousands of people visit the event as the community continues to celebrate. The event draws families, friends and tourists from all over the world and fill every campground, RV park, hotel and motel in the City.
This years Fiestas Committee will include some new events and entertainers as throughout the Fiestas, you will find a carnival, rodeo, Laser Light Show, Mariachis, Parade, Reina Dance and over 20 entertainers!
